Clonidine is a centrally acting alpha-agonist that lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. It’s also used off-label to manage ADHD, anxiety, hot flashes, and opioid withdrawal symptoms. It may cause drowsiness and is sometimes prescribed as a sleep aid in ADHD patients.
